Eugenie D'Hooghe (°1995) is a freelance journalist and documentary maker.
She has a pair of well-developed feelers, a nose for news and a heart for people. For her work she dives into a life pool of people with special stories. This can range from bittersweet experiences and educational encounters to shocking scenes of and by people. She reports on these exchanges, which are translated into written word and non-fiction documentaries. With her journalistic work she tries to expose the complexity of the world and humanity.
She prefers to immerse herself in the Middle East and therefore explores the Arabic language. Her specialization lies in migration, international politics, refugees, multiculturalism, diversity, the Middle East and foreign policy.
Eugenie studied socio-cultural work at Artevelde Hogeschool and followed the master's degree in international politics at Ghent University. During and after her studies she lived in Vietnam, Lebanon and Canada.
